For much of my life, I was a people-pleaser, but I eventually discovered the profound difference between service and subservience. That realization changed everything—it unlocked my purpose and inspired me to live a life filled with unapologetic joy. Now, I’m committed to helping others achieve the same fulfillment.

The year that my mom died was pivotal for me. Most people think of me as an extrovert (tbh, I would have said the same many years ago), but I desperately need time to myself to just BE. I wanted to live alongside my mom as the witness to her, the life of every party. I loved that I laughed as loud as she did with every muscle in my face participating in the feat. My faith was as robust as our laughter . . . was. And then there was cancer. And then my family fell apart. And then my workplace was completely upended by a nightmarish level of toxicity. Joy was replaced with survival for many years.

Sure, there were fleeting moments of excitement, celebration, happiness, peace but in the greater scheme, every moment was a fight that ate at the parts of me that missed all I thought I had.
